What We Install
METOD Base & Wall Units
We offer full assembly and installation of IKEA METOD cabinets. They can be wall-mounted and floor-standing. They will be levelled and secured with proper wall fixings.
Worktop Fitting
Cutting and fitting IKEA laminate worktops, or templating for stone and solid wood alternatives — joins, cutouts, and end panels included.
Appliance Integration
We will help with integration of your IKEA or third-party oven, hob, extractor and dishwasher. Your fridge-freezer fitted flush and operational within the cabinet run.
Sink & Plumbing
Urban Kitchens will take care about IKEA sink and tap installation, waste connection, and isolation valves. You don’t need to book IKEA Home Services return visit for that.

Why Not Just Use IKEA Home Services?
Everyone knows that IKEA offers their own installation service. However, not everyone is aware that it is subcontracted to a network of independent fitters. - Delivery to Site — IKEA usually delivers to your address directly. Our team will check the delivery against the plan. If there are any missing or damaged items before installation starts – we will flag it out.
- First Fix — If required we can help you with wall preparation, marking out, service routing, and structural work. This will be completed by our team before cabinets are assembled.
- Cabinet Installation — METOD units assembled, installed, and levelled. Appliances integrated by Urban Kitchens. Worktops cut and fitted.
- Finishing & Handover — We will make sure that: Doors hung, drawers aligned, plinths and cornices fitted. Full snagging completed before we leave the site.
Common Questions
Do I need to assemble the IKEA cabinets before you arrive?
No. Leave the flat-pack boxes as they are. Our team assembles and install everything on site. Pre-assembled cabinets are often assembled incorrectly or damaged in the process. That’s why we prefer to start from scratch with the flat-pack.
Can you work with any IKEA kitchen range?
Absolutely. We install all current IKEA METOD kitchen ranges including BODBYN, AXSTAD, VOXTORP, KUNGSBACKA, RINGHULT, and LERHYTTAN door fronts, as well as older IKEA systems we see regularly in London refits.
What if parts are missing or damaged on delivery?
We check the delivery of your IKEA order before we start our part of work. Missing or damaged components are reported immediately. IKEA replaces individual items free of charge, and we reschedule the affected part of the installation around the replacement delivery.
How long does IKEA kitchen installation take?
A standard IKEA kitchen installation in London takes 3 to 5 days. Kitchens with complex layouts, island units, or full first-fix requirements may take up to a week.
